January & February 2023

With customers being more concerned about sustainability, we have teamed up with an innovative waste disposal company and designed three bins with inserts to collect used plastic glasses and cups . The three designs all do the same job but are able to be used in different locations. An exciting project!

December 2022

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2023.

November 2022

An interesting project has come our way. In conjunction with a partner we are ready to prototype a new concept in waste disposal .

September & October 2022

These two months have seen us consolidate our position within the sustainability family, sourcing alternative supplies of more eco friendly materials.

August 2022

With Brexit and Covid still having a lasting effect, recruitment has been an issue for many companies. We at Alan Cooper Packaging are tackling this by looking at sustainability through the eyes of the younger generation, asking what they would like to see from us and seeing if we can integrate their concerns within our business. They think outside the box and so must we.

July 2022

We’ve recently been involved in re-designing a transit pack for one of our major clients. The brief was to cut down the amount of material used, without compromising the integrity of the pack. Several trials have proved to be successful and we are now looking at other packs within their range.

June 2022

We have just joined with a partner to ensure the board we use for our corrugated cardboard cartons comes from a sustainable source. Printed  corrugated cartons and boxes are a perfect way to advertise your company whilst still delivering your product in an ethical and sustainable manner.

May 2022

We’re working closely with an online retail customer to promote their brand with reusable and recyclable packaging, giving them more coverage in the marketplace. These past months have seen us continue to push for more sustainable packaging solutions, good for our customers and good for the planet.

April 2022

The Paper & Packaging Industry, like many others is experiencing unprecedented and ongoing cost pressures driven by supply chain challenges in many areas such as paper, transport, glue, stitching wire,  transport, cutting tool costs and printing materials (ink and stereo plates) alongside rising costs of wages, fuel and energy.

The result of this continuous pressure has led to significant increases in both raw material and input costs across all areas of our business, whilst we try to absorb some of these costs it is impossible to absorb them all, this will result in us having to increase our selling price,  each individual order and quotation will be looked at when received to see if we can find ways to keep the increase to a minimum rather than just implement a blanket percentage increase across the board.

We look forward to hearing from you.

March 2022

A new government tax has come in charging a percentage on plastic packaging, unless it is made from at least 30% recycled material. We’re pleased to say we meet these requirements on the majority of our plastic  products.

February 2022

We’ve been working closely with an international shipper to provide them with packing boxes and sustainable materials to send hundreds of individual artworks to the USA in readiness for exhibitions. The American client has stipulated that the packaging should be, wherever possible compostable. It takes a great deal of planning and labelling as each piece is different in size, shape and made from different materials, wood, glass, metal, marble etc. Along with all the sculptures there are many different sizes of paintings in all mediums, all of which have to be transported safely across the pond.

January 2022

Happy 2022!! We would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a Happy and Peaceful New Year. We have plans in place to expand our eco friendly / sustainable packaging range of materials and hope to be adding more degradable and compostable items in the following months after we’ve tested and ratified them.

December 2021

Christmas is fast approaching, with that in mind we would like to thank our customers and suppliers, old and new for their support over the last year. It’s been a trying time for us all but we’ve worked our way through it by maintaining continuous dialogue with each other.

The shortages and increased prices of raw materials have seen us take a closer look at how we use these valuable resources, and I’m pleased to say we’ve become more innovative and open minded in design and application.

It could be said we’re thinking outside the box, not getting stuck inside it.

We would be more than happy to offer prices for your existing packaging or look and see if it’s possible to make savings by using materials in a more innovative and efficient way.

Finally we would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful 2022 .

November 2021

We have  continued to work with our suppliers, customers and couriers to save on extraneous journeys. This is in a concerted effort to reduce our carbon footprint. We are happy to say we have managed to save around 8% – 10% of our normal journeys so far, this has been an ongoing project which we will continue to implement and hopefully improve upon. It is gratifying to know all involved are making this happen, a real team effort.

October 2021

We would like to thank our couriers who have given us excellent service, making sure our products have been delivered to our customers as soon as we’ve had them ready for collection, a real team effort by all concerned.

September 2021

Summer has seen a steady progression in our sustainable packaging programme. We intend to continue to grow our corrugated box side of the business along with other sustainable materials. We’re happy continuing to engage customers in discussions to achieve this aim, both in cardboard and corrugated plastics. Where we can use recycled factory waste and turn it into boxes and fluorescent tube disposal boxes, aka our coffins, we will.

August 2021

Over the past months we’ve seen significant price increases from our  suppliers on all materials, from paper to plastics. All driven by heavy global demand, unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. Looking for better news next month.

July 2021

July takes us in to vacation time when, historically we would have expected to be quieter – but not this year! It’s full steam ahead in all aspects of our work, which would suggest it’s pretty busy ‘out there’. Long may it remain so for all businesses.

June 2021

Packaging Problems? We don’t want to keep banging on about our green credentials, but we’re really doing our bit to offer the most appropriate solutions to our clients. We firmly believe it is possible to produce cost effective solutions whilst maintaining a high level of sustainability. Please contact us to discuss any ongoing projects, or just for a straightforward quotation.

May 2021

Our order book is filling up, and lead times from our raw suppliers is starting to ease, though this can alter quite dramatically on a daily basis. We’re in conversation with our logistics department and looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Our use of recycled material has increased and trials we’ve carried out show that the finished products retain their integrity and have no negative impact, only positive.

April 2021

April sees us kicking off another month and we hope all our suppliers and customers are keeping healthy and well! In fact we hope every one every where is keeping healthy and well. Business seems to be picking up and although lead times are a bit stretched we’re doing our utmost to minimise the effect this is having on our customer’s requirements. If we all work together, I’m sure we can see this off and enjoy a more comfortable business and personal future. Heads up and stay safe!

March 2021

In keeping with our eco friendly ethic, we’ll be introducing a range of certified compostable carrier and mailing bags, both plain and printed. These are 100% biodegradable and conform to EN13432 . Organic recycling only , do not put these bags in the recycling bin . If unable to put in a compost heap or organic waste bin , put them in your domestic waste .

February 2021

Moving forward safely and cautiously , happy to be taking on new work . We know some of our customers are feeling the “pinch” and we’re here to offer alternative solutions both to them, and new clients. Feel free to contact us.

In the meantime take care and stay safe .
